Talk To Him

Dear Readers,

In the book of Proverbs, you will read a lot of God's understanding of things. I look forward to read it. Hope you like it too.

Proverbs 2:6-8

For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. - The Lord who creates heaven and earth has knowledge beyond your understanding. Verse 7 He holds victory in store for the upright - your victory may not be when you are living on earth but God will definitely gives you victory in heaven. Let us pray for His wisdom every day in our lives.

Hymn: Great Is Thy Faithfulness (Words: Thomas O. Chisholm, 1923 and Music: William M. Runyan, 1923)

Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
there is no shadow of turning with thee;
thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
as thou hast been thou forever will be.

Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
all I have needed thy hand hath provided;
great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
to thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Proverbs 3:3-4

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

- This is a wonderful verse for people who are in relationship and on a wedding ceremony message. Not only you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man, you will have peace, harmony and joy in your lives. Treasure it and never let it leave you. Let us pray for love and faithfulness be in our relationship and marriage.

Proverbs 3:5-7

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.[a] Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.

- You must always remember that you are God's child and He knows more than you know yourself. He knows what is good for you because He knows what holds tomorrow. So, if you are having worries and difficulties in your life, talk to God. Lift up all your worries and burden to Him. Trust Him with your whole life. Tell Him you allow Him to lead you, then do what you need to do and leave the rest to Him.

Proverbs 3:13-20

13 Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, 14 for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. 15 She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. 16 Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. 17 Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. 18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed. 19 By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place; 20 by his knowledge the watery depths were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.

- Verse 13 Blessed are those who find wisdom, because they will make the right decisions for their lives. So they tend to lead stress free and peaceful lives. Verse 15 She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Wisdom is not a thing money can buy. There is no price tag on it and it can't be measured. But if you like to measure, it is priceless. Verse 17 Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. Wisdom brings understanding of things; hence, a peaceful and smooth sailing life. Verse 19 By wisdom the Lord laid the earth's foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place. The earth holds the ocean, the magnetic force holds us down. Nothing can stop the sun rising and nothing can stop the sun setting. Heaven belongs to God and only through Lord Jesus Christ can we gain entry into heaven. Let us pray for God's wisdom to be upon us.

Proverbs 3:21-30

21 My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion;
22 they will be life for you,
an ornament to grace your neck.
23 Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble.
24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
25 Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
26 for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.

27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.
28 Do not say to your neighbor,
“Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you”— when you already have it with you.
29 Do not plot harm against your neighbor, who lives trustfully near you.
30 Do not accuse anyone for no reason — when they have done you no harm.

- Verse 21 My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion - Remember to be forgiving and merciful too. Verse 24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet - When you do good, you have no worry. Likewise, when you make the right decision in your life, you have no worry. Verse 27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act - When someone is doing good at the workplace, no matter it is in small or big way, remember to praise the person. Verse 28 Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you”— when you already have it with you - If you are willing to give, give it now. You may not meet the person again. Pray persistently for God's wisdom. Allow God to be in your life, let Him leads and guides your ways. There is no peace without God.

Proverbs 5:1-9

Warning Against Adultery

1My son, pay attention to my wisdom, turn your ear to my words of insight,
that you may maintain discretion and your lips may preserve knowledge.
For the lips of the adulterous woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil;
but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double-edged sword.
Her feet go down to death; her steps lead straight to the grave.
She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths wander aimlessly, but she does not know it.

Now then, my sons, listen to me; do not turn aside from what I say.
Keep to a path far from her, do not go near the door of her house,
lest you lose your honor to others and your dignity[a] to one who is cruel,

- He is the past, the present and the future. This bible you are reading has thousands years of history. Proverbs 5:1-9 reflects the past and it still remains true to this day. Verse 3  For the lips of the adulterous woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil. Verse 6 She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths wander aimlessly, but she does not know it. Verse 8 Keep to a path far from her, do not go near the door of her house, Verse 9 lest you lose your honor to others and your dignity to one who is cruel.

Proverbs 8:14-21

14 Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power.
15 By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just;
16 by me princes govern, and nobles—all who rule on earth.[b]
17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.
18 With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity.
19 My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver.
20 I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice,
21 bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me and making their treasuries full.

 - This passage speaks the goodness of wisdom and to gain wisdom is to seek it. Verse 17  I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. Does God bless us wealth? I believe He does according to His will and blessing. Verse 21 bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me and making their treasuries full. You must believe that God will bless you be it wealth or other matters. Without faith it is impossible to please God. You must put your focus in God in whatever situation you are in. He will be with you. When you put God in your life, life is worth living and you will have peace.

Proverbs 12:2-7

Good people obtain favor from the Lord, but he condemns those who devise wicked schemes.

No one can be established through wickedness, but the righteous cannot be uprooted.

A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.

The plans of the righteous are just, but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.

The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.

The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous stands firm.

- Verse 2-3 Good people obtain favor from the Lord, but he condemns those who devise wicked schemes. No one can be established through wickedness, but the righteous cannot be uprooted - Encouraging verses to remember. Verse 4 A wife of noble character is her husband's crown (if he doesn't treasure it, what else does he want.)

Proverbs 12:11-15

11 Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense.

12 The wicked desire the stronghold of evildoers, but the root of the righteous endures.

13 Evildoers are trapped by their sinful talk, and so the innocent escape trouble.

14 From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward.

15 The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.

- Verse 15 The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice (and accept what is best for him.)

Proverbs 12:25

25 Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.

- Be kind to those who are waiting anxiously for test results, medical results, interview results and many other anxiety waiting. Let your words fill with encouragement to cheer them up, not casting them down. Pray for God to always put the right word in your mouth.

Proverbs 12:28

28 In the way of righteousness there is life; along that path is immortality.

- Does it not speak of our Lord Jesus Christ; and everyone who believe Him will have an everlasting life. The day you die, it is the day you join our Lord Jesus Christ in heaven.

Proverbs 14:1, 14:16, 14:21, 14:22, 14:26, 14:27, 14:31

1The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.

16 The wise fear the Lord and shun evil, but a fool is hotheaded and yet feels secure.

21 It is a sin to despise one’s neighbor, but blessed is the one who is kind to the needy.

22 Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find[a] love and faithfulness.

26 Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge.

27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a person from the snares of death.

31 Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.

- We know the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. To live in His word and presence we have peace. To allow Him to lead us we will not worry. So let our Lord Jesus Christ lead our household. We are called to spread His word to the world and to trust and obey Him. So let the people who has not heard Him be heard. Mark 16:15 He said to them, ``Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.`` Let us pray for His leading in our lives.

Proverbs 14:32

32 When calamity comes, the wicked are brought down, but even in death the righteous seek refuge in God. even in death the righteous seek refuge in God. Is this not our savior Lord Jesus Christ. At the garden of Gethsemane, Mark 14:34-36 ``My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,`` he said to them. ``Stay here and keep watch.`` Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. ``Abba, Father,`` he said,``everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.`` We are called to be like Christ. Let us pray that each and everyday we will be like Christ.

I Surrender All (Words: J.W. Van Deventer, 1896 and Music: W.S. Weeden, 1896.)

All to Jesus I surrender,

All to Him I freely give;

I will ever love and trust Him,

In His presence daily live.

Refrain:

I surrender all, I surrender all;

All to Thee, my blessed Savior,

I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender,

Make my, Savior, wholly Thine;

Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit,

Truly know that Thou art mine. [Refrain]

All to Jesus I surrender,

Lord, I give myself to Thee;

Fill me with Thy love and power,

Let Thy blessing fall on me. [Refrain]

Proverbs 15:22

22 Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. - Your business is good. Have you thought of bringing your business to the next level? Ask for God's blessing and seek advice from appropriate consultant or your banker.

Proverbs 15:26

26 The Lord detests the thoughts of the wicked, but gracious words are pure in his sight. - Never be afraid to be a good person.

Proverbs 16:3 and 16:9

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.

In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.

- Verse 9 In his heart a man plan his course, but the Lord determines his steps. So Readers, commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.

Proverbs 21:3

To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. - To do what is right and just is what the Lord wants us to do so it is more pleasing to the Lord than sacrifice.

Proverbs 21:9

Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife. - This is true, but it is also true that it is better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome husband. Let us pray for God's peace in our household and His love be upon us.

Proverbs 22:2 and 21:13

22:2 Rich and poor have this in common: The Lord is the Maker of them all. 21:13 Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor will also cry out and not be answered. - Help when you can. Reach out to those who really need your help. Likewise in the workplace, give as much grace to others as much as God has given to you.

Proverbs 22:24-25

24 Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered, 25 or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared. - Befriending a hot-tempered person is permitting the person to hurt or harm you in any ways. May God bless us with peace.

Proverbs 27:1

1Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.   - This is true but let us pray in the morning and bed time that God will lead and guide us, and bless us with everything we need in our lives. Do our best and leave the rest to God.

Proverbs 27:5

Better is open rebuke than hidden love.   - If you love a person, tell the person now. There's a Pastor said, "If you want to give me flowers, you give it to me now, not when I'm dead and you have the flowers place at my grave yard!" If you want to give, you give it now. If you want to care, you care for the person now.

Proverbs 27:18

18 The one who guards a fig tree will eat its fruit, and whoever protects their master will be honored.   - If you are a farmer, give everything your fruit trees need to bear fruit. And wherever you work, look after one another. If you are in trouble one day, I'm pretty sure someone will step in for you.

Proverbs 27:19

19 As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.   - It is not the rules or laws, it is the heart of the man that decide what he will do.

Proverbs 27:23-27

23 Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds;
24 for riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations.
25 When the hay is removed and new growth appears and the grass from the hills is gathered in,
26 the lambs will provide you with clothing, and the goats with the price of a field.
27 You will have plenty of goats’ milk to feed your family and to nourish your female servants.   - This is a good message to the farmers. It is a very good message to the leaders of nations - verse 24 for riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations. It is crucial for leaders of nations to know its land well and make the right decisions for the people so that its land can continue to provide food for its people and its people can continue to live with food on their tables. Likewise at the workplace, whichever level we are in, it is good to give attention to our working environment and people we work with. A team will only stand and grow when members care for one another.

Proverbs 29:3

A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father, but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.   - Isn't it true. It was written thousands years ago. This is more we need to treasure our bible. A good man will only treasure one woman, that is his wife.
