In Numbers, the Lord continued to guide His people. He will guide you if you are willing to let Him be your Lord and your redeemer. |
Numbers 1:45 and 8:23-25
Numbers 1:45
45 All the Israelites twenty years old or more(BW) who were able to serve in Israel’s army were counted according to their families.(BX)
Numbers 8:23-25
23 The Lord said to Moses, 24 “This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years old or more(AI) shall come to take part in the work at the tent of meeting,(AJ) 25 but at the age of fifty,(AK) they must retire from their regular service and work no longer.
- The Lord set the age to serve in Israel's army likewise to our existing army recruitment. And the Lord assign who to serve at the tent of meeting and the retirement age. Have you discovered your career path? Have you discovered your gift to serve in the church? Ask and He will answer you. |
Numbers 9:7-12
7 and said to Moses, “We have become unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be kept from presenting the Lord’s offering with the other Israelites at the appointed time?(N)” 8 Moses answered them, “Wait until I find out what the Lord commands concerning you.”(O) 9 Then the Lord said to Moses, 10 “Tell the Israelites: ‘When any of you or your descendants are unclean because of a dead body(P) or are away on a journey, they are still to celebrate(Q) the Lord’s Passover, 11 but they are to do it on the fourteenth day of the second month(R) at twilight. They are to eat the lamb, together with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.(S) 12 They must not leave any of it till morning(T) or break any of its bones.(U) When they celebrate the Passover, they must follow all the regulations. - The Israelities who couldn't present the Lord's offering at the same time with the rest because they were unclean, questioned Moses for the reason. Likewise, if you have a question in your heart, lift it up to the Lord and talk to your Pastor about it. In the body of Christ, we are not alone. We lift each other up. We may not have the ability to interact with the Lord the way Moses did, but have faith, the Lord hears your prayers. You must live with big faith to believe that He is your almighty God who can guide you just the way He guided the Israelities. Matthew 19:26 - With God all things are possible. |
Numbers 9:7-13
6 Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes 7 and said to the entire Israelite assembly, “The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. 8 If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. 9 Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.” - If our community, church or faith in God is faced with objection and discouragement, let us be brave and courageous to speak and act like Joshua and Caleb. |
Numbers 14:11
11 The Lord said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them? - The Israelities had let the Lord down over and over again after all the mighty acts God had shown to them. Let us take a moment to recall the day we said yes to the Lord. Personally, I like Numbers 14 as it had written the Lord's conversation with Moses, letting us know His sadness and disapproval to Israelities' continuous uncontented hearts, and what He would do to the Israelities. Can we be contented? Let us be contented. And personally I believe we should be using 'please' and 'can I' in our prayers, not 'You must' and 'You should'. He is our Lord, our saviour, our redeemer and someone who loves us most.
