Talk To Him

Dear Readers,

As we read His word, pray to Him to bless us and allow Him to be part of our lives, we will grow up spiritually too. Have you?

Esther 2:21-22 and Esther 6:1-3

Esther 2:21-22

21 During the time Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate, Bigthana[b] and Teresh, two of the king’s officers who guarded the doorway, became angry and conspired to assassinate King Xerxes. 22 But Mordecai found out about the plot and told Queen Esther, who in turn reported it to the king, giving credit to Mordecai.

Esther 6:1-3

1That night the king could not sleep; so he ordered the book of the chronicles, the record of his reign, to be brought in and read to him. It was found recorded there that Mordecai had exposed Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s officers who guarded the doorway, who had conspired to assassinate King Xerxes. “What honor and recognition has Mordecai received for this?” the king asked. “Nothing has been done for him,” his attendants answered.

- When Mordecai was sitting at the King's gate, he found 2 officers wanted to assassinate King Xerxes. So Mordecai informed Queen Esther and it was reported to the King. Mordecai did not get any reward for his loyality to the King. One night when the King could not get to sleep, he asked that the events that happened in his reign be read to him and it happened that Mordecai's rescue to the King was read. After King Xerxes realized Mordecai was not rewarded for his action, the King rewarded and placed him second in rank after the King himself. It happened the position belonged to Haman who despised Mordecai and wanted him to be killed. Haman was also the enemy of the Jews (the Israelites). We can learn from Mordecai that beside carrying out our duties in our workplace, it is right to be loyal to our boss. The boss is afterall the person who hires us, who gives us the opportunity to earn a living, to bring food to our table, to work for the company.
